Nantucket Sound is like a triangle – 30 miles wide and 25 miles long. It’s enclosed by Cape Cod on the north, Nantucket on the south, and Martha’s Vineyard on the west. Protected by shallow shoals on the south and east, it’s like a big, salt water lake. Bathed by the northern reaches of the Gulf Stream, it has calm, warm-water beaches, and great fishing, boating and swimming.
